I did come across the article on what to do with your free arm during one arm swing. I was just wondering, are there any differences and/or pros/cons to keeping the free arm stuff in guard or hanging to the side vs using the mimic/tap the handle or swinging the free arm as well opposed to keeping it still?

Guard position helps prevent rotation and over using the free arm.

Tapping the handle can help with staying square and connected at the top.

Swinging the free arm can help with rhythm and power in the swing but it is easy to over do and should not lead to rotation in the hinge.

Keeping it to the side can again provide feedback on rotation in the swing.

Would you say which one I pick matters or if one is better than the others? Or doesn’t matter at all

Depends on which one you "need" at the moment or what you would like to check in on.

Video your swing and see if you are over using the free arm or see if you are rotating or not staying square and apply the free hand position that brings awareness to that.

In the end swinging the free arm to enhance the swing is a good goal.
