Hi, all!
Charlie Weingroff answered a couple of related questions from me on the subject of knee collapse and rooting failures? Are weak glutes to blame?
Here is the link: http://charlieweingroff.com/2014/12/questioning-valgus-collapse/
I will summarise the recommendations for those who don't receive the rarefied wavelength Charlie talks in:
If force is limited, we should not assume it is because the muscle physiloigcally can not produce it. The assumption is that the body is not in the right position, then you track backwards.
There can only be 4 failures
1. Poorly fit or outdated technology in equipment.
2. You don't know how to do the movement.
3. Biological Power: Power, Strength, Speed, Endurance, Nutrition, Psychology, Readiness
Or,
4. You just can't get into the right positions
So, what to do?
1. Mobilise what is tight
2. Coach motor control
3. Train for strength
4. Refer out if you can't handle it.
Hope you all get something out of a question I asked an expert about.
