Squad,

I hope all is well! Little background, I'm 6'4, 240 lbs, 32 years of experience in life. I've had two back surgeries in the last 18 months. First back surgery was in April 2021, Right side L4/L5/S1 discectomy. My 2nd back surgery was in Jan 2022, Left side L4/L5/S1 discectomy. I feel good / much better now. I'm eager to get back into training KBs, powerlifts, and/or both.

I'm currently running S&S (last 3x weeks - love it btw) at my home gym. I'd like to add deads, Trap Bar or reg BB. I was thinking about doing 3-4 days of S&S + 1 day of 5x5 Trap Bar Deadlifts.

Questions:

Has anyone here experienced 1-2 back surgeries and added kettlebell work and powerlifting work back into their regime?

If so, how do you feel now and how are your numbers?

What mobility work do you conduct (recovery days and work days)?

What are your thoughts on the trap bar regarding my history?

What type of squatting (down the road) would you recommend?

Thanks ya'll!
