Personally: Feeling calm and ready for the next set.
In the study that Pavel references the Ujjayi breathing helped to slow down HR and to normalize oxygen saturation much faster than with normal breathing or tai chi breathing. (Subjects were performing 10 minutes of grappling before the testing).

Sounds good and usable.

Personally, I would be interested to see if such a breathing protocol would allow me to regain my force production capability faster. I'm not sure how well it correlates with breathing or heart rate.

Like take a weightlifter doing single rep squats with 90% 1RM. Will breathing practice decrease the necessary time between the singles if we want the bar speed to remain identical through a training session?
