My name is Keir
I'm 44yrs old.
5 ft 7 175 pounds
Muscular body type

No injuries so far
I haven't had a functional movement screening. I move well, but there's always room for improvement.

I'm a BJJ Purple Belt under Saulo Ribeiro. My goal is to compete in the IBJF World Championships in 2016.

I recently bought the book S&S. The simple program requires you have a 32kg kettlebell to get started. I own a 24kg kettlebell.

Should I start the S&S program with my 24kg...or wait until I'm able to afford a 32kg?

My goal is to get my SFG I certification in September of 2016. I'm going to use Brett Jone's SFG I certification prep guide, along with S&S for preparation for the certification.

Am I on the right track?

Thanks in advance.

You can begin with a 24. The "simple" standard is done with a 32..

The best analogy I can give you is S and S would be like learning the basics in BJJ such as the closed guard and the armbar.. You can never go wrong with them regardless of level..

Now, I wouldn't suggest mixing programs. You can practice a few of the level 1 skills but nothing intense but keep the focus on S and S for the next few months.

You can begin with a 24 - most people begin with a 16 kg.
