Sodium For Workouts

The composition of muscle is 70% water.\

Research shows that performance decreases when individuals are dehydrated.

The reverse is to some extent true. Individuals who are well hydrated or Superhydrated perform optimally.

As we know, one of Sodium's characteristics is hydration.

One of the benefits is...

The Cell Volumizing Effect

One of the reasons creatine is so effective with Strength Training is due to Cell Volumizing.

Essentially, creatine Super Hydrates the muscle ensuring they fire move effectively, allowing you to push/pull more weight up.

DiNicolantonio (PhD Pharmacology) goes into the misinformation regarding Salt Sodium Intake.

Healthy individuals do better when consuming more sodium than less.

As per DiNicolantonio, one of the most effective methods of hydrating prior to training is with a Chicken Bouillon drink. More on that in a minute.

Nutritionist Robb Wolf goes to support Dicolantonio in his video presentation on consuming a hydration beverage prior to training.

Ketogenic Diet

One of the issues with the Ketogenic Diet is the need for higher Sodium Intake due to lower Sodium Levels.

On a Ketogenic Diet one of the recommendations is to consume a cup of Chicken Bouillon prior to training to ensure your optimally hydrated and perform your best.

With that in mind, let's compare the Elemental Lab's Electrolyte Drink Mix to Knorr's Chicken Bouillon...

Elemental Lab's Electrolyte Drink Mix.

1) Sodium 1000 mg

2) Potassium 200 mg

3) Magnesium 60 mg

Cost Serving (each packet): $1.50 .

Knorr Chicken Flavor Bouillon

1) Sodium 810 mg

2) Potassium 210

3) No Magnesium.

Cost Per Serving: Roughly 4 cents.

If someone wants to add Magnesium to the mix, it's around 5 cents with the Magnesium that I get from Swanson Vitamins.
