I recently have started doing a new workout specifically for combat sports, experimenting alongside kettlebells (Could also be used with barbell if available in a home gym)
The routine goes along like this, taking heavier kettlebells and doing a strength set (3-5 reps) of just Clean and Jerks.
Immediately after doing punching drills (I do 80 punches) or bag work, then kick drill (10 kicks per leg) --- Focusing on doing power hits, not just forms.
Repeat this for 5-10 rounds depending on individual.
I found it helps develop power in the necessary muscle groups, and then taking that strength and applying it in your hits.
What do you guys think?
