Reciently been doing way more of S&S and my knee has reminded me that it really hates hip bridges. I have a 3 year old meniscus injury that’s only bothered now by a#@ to grass squats (past parallel is fine) and hip bridges.

Can I substitute SL or staggered stance deadlifts? As I understood it from the book it also has a hip flexor flexibility component, so I was thinking to add in a static hip flexor stretch at the end too?

I found bodyweight or kettlebell good mornings to grease/warmup the hinge pattern very well.

Why not. The idea is to fire the glutes and stretch the hip flexors. You could try a few bodyweight lunges focusing on stretching the hip flexor of the back leg.
