As I understand BCAA is best as an intra-workout supplement. They are metabolized in the liver not the stomach. I mixed it with a very simple sugar like dextrose(Gatorade) for long workouts.
Use Whey after a workout and in the morning because it works best in a fasted state, it has high levels of BCAA, is a complete protein, and a lot cheaper.
I just use some whey and juice during long workouts now. The only other supplement I use is creatine for about a year.
