Barbell The 1TRM EV PS Program: Escalating Volume in the Plan Strong Style

I've done two cycles of Escalating Volume then upgraded to customised Plan Strong programs, all with bench press and deadlift. I can't recall exact stats (and on holidays here don't have access to my extensive records) but I was pleased enough with the progress to go again, then upgrade to Plan Strong. My biggest issue came from accustomisng to the volume. Previous strength programs for me had been higher weight, lower reps (think PTTP, Easy Strength, 531 etc). Escalating Volume got (for me) pretty crazy in weeks 3 and 6 but it was doable and I got there with some soreness. My strong advice is to get a very reliable 1RM before commencing, so much hinges on getting the weight right given you are spending plenty of time working sub-maximally. My brother took up the program, guessed his 75%, ridiculously undershot, and wasted eight weeks. Do a serious test of 1RM and save yourself that experience
