"Yes" indeed... from the moment you roll to pick up the bell till you roll again to put it down.

If you look at targeted obliques exercises, you'll find many of them present throughout the TGU movement... while loaded!
 
At what point in the turkish getup do the obliques work the hardest?

The Winners
Based on this experiment, here are the top three exercises in terms of mean and peak activity for each muscle part:

Rectus Abdominis
Mean: Chin Up, Hanging Leg Raise, Ab Wheel
Peak: Chin Up, Hanging Leg Raise, Swiss Ball Crunch

Internal Oblique
Mean: Ab Wheel from Feet, Ab Wheel from Knees, Bodysaw
Peak: Ab Wheel from Feet, Bodysaw, Tornado Ball Slam

External Oblique
Mean: Ab Wheel from Feet, Hanging Leg Raise, Bodysaw
Peak: Turkish Get Up, Hanging Leg Raise, Bodysaw

So, alternate doing one nice set of chins or standing ab wheel after your get ups a couple of times a week. I wonder if OAOL Push Ups were examined.
