Kettlebell Using 2 KB vs 1

Is using 2 40lb KB the same as using 1 80lb KB?

It is the same weight, yes.... But you have to do different things with that weight. So it just depends what results you are after, and what you are able to do.

I mean, with THAT weight, about all you could do is deadlift. In that case, yeah, same thing.

I can't imagine doing anything else with 80kg besides swings, and swinging 2 x 40kgs is just too unwieldy.

To the Op: I dont think so. I can easily snatch double 40lbs but having hard time with 53, let alone 80 lbs

Oh yeah, thanks @q.Hung

So, back to what you'd be doing with those kettlebells, and what results you are after. You could probably make much better use of 2 x 40 lb than 1 x 80 lb.
 
I can work 1 kb much better than 2 bc of the width of 2. I know many people disagree but that's why i sold my doubles and bought up to 106#.
