I push down my shoulders with lats when I'm starting a swing series and taking the kettlebell from the floor. Is there any other time I should do it?
Another question: why and how to raise your kneecap?
for the kneecap, stand up straight with your legs straight but not flexing your quads. Now take a look at your kneecap while you flex your quads and squeeze your glutes. Your kneecaps will raise ever so slightly.
your glutes need to be tense and if your hip drive is powerful/snappy your quads will be flexed also and your core will be engaged whether you realize it or not.
