It tells me their form is off.If done correctly,you dont feel swings at all in the lower back.I have seen the swing  form of some guys who can DL a truck--they muscle the weight up  with the arms and shoulders rather than using the glutes/hips/hammies.
 
The researchers recorded the EMG activity of Pavel Tsatsouline while he performed a swing with a 32kg kettlebell with his right hand and with two hands. During this experiment, Pavel displayed activation of 150% of MVC in his left erector spine and over 100% in his left gluteal muscles.
Sounds like Pavel uses his back.
