Hi, I’m doing the Plan strong military press program that was posted a few years ago and would like some clarity regarding the repxset in week 3 which is this (32x2, 36 x1/2) x 3. So is this 32 for 2 reps followed by 36 for 1 rep and repeat 3 times? If so why is the 36 listed with 1/2? Or is it something else? Thank you

I no this was a while ago but I think the 1,2 would be a ladder, that's how It is in my pull up program at least so it would be 1 rep rest 2 reps and that would be th ladder so three of those ladders

If it is written 1,2 then it is a set of 1 then a set of 2. If it is written 1/2 that means two sets of one rep. Western programming would write it like 2x1. Which refers to 2 sets of 1 rep. The parenthesis means its one big set done 3 times. So...

2 reps 32kg
1 rep 36kg
1 rep 36kg

2 reps 32kg
1 rep 36kg
1 rep 36kg

2 reps 32kg
1 rep 36kg
1 rep 36kg

From a recent discussion on our PlanStrong forum section:

24 kg x 1/2 means two singles.

24 kg x 2,3 means a double then a triple.

The usual <weight> x <reps> is sufficient when the weight changes with each set. The other notations are necessary when the same weight is used for consecutive sets.

What's below is a correct interpretation of what you showed, @Dr Dan
