Sean, you can also focus on pulling the kettlebell down in the negative of a military press. This will also fire the lat and bicep with the bonus of saving your pressing muscles.
Google for horizontal rows and watch those performed with the TRX or the Lifeline Jungle Gym. You don't have to buy them, just improvise with nylon straps or ropes.
