Jeffrey,
I second Steve's opinion about the lack of results you obtained and how to proceed. I've been in your shoes, both as one trying to move better and struggling to find the tools I need, and on the other as a professional working to instruct others to move better. When I first went through the movement screen in 2010 I scored poorly, today I do far better, including being close to resolving a horrendous shoulder mobility pattern. I was chronically "stiff" growing up, I have no memories of performing a full deep squat at any point in my life.
The results have come from having access to amazing teachers that changed (and continue to change) my personal and professional practice. The FMS paradigm works provide you follow the sequence, gain mobility and learn to statically hold and then dynamically move in positions that used to be impossible due to limited mobility. That being said, I have also had to make A LOT of lifestyle changes to become more leaner, more mobile and stronger, and have had to seek ought professional assistance in fields that one may not immediately think of when trying to move better.
The FMS trainer you worked with may have not provided the best drills, missed some details that prevented results, not removed and added the right movements and lifts, etc. There are MANY styles and thoughts when it comes to mobilizing and strengthening the body, some work better than others and may not work for someone regardless of how many other people have seen success.
OR, the root issue of your problem may be caused by issues that require therapeutic modalities that you have not tried yet, ones outside the FMS trainer's abilities. I've only recently began learning more about the fascial system after seeing amazing results in myself and others using the same craniosacral specialist, results that they did not have after working with other good, knowledgeable PT's. Such hands-on manipulation of your CNS and other soft-tissues may be needed.
Professionally I do the best with the modalities I'm currently trained to use, if I'm not getting results then I refer after a few months to my PT or other specialists that those I trust vouch for as I know I don't have the tools to address the primary issue(s). Keep searching and you will find the weak link(s) and how to address them, I don't recommend abstaining from coaching and therapeutic work, both are great investments when working with the right individuals.
