Goal: Pistol the Beast and beyond

Most recent max: 40kg x 1 each leg at the beginning of March following 40 day program

Current Program:

Double KB C&P w/2 x 20 kg on MWF

Weighted Pistols on Tues & Thur

I do Weighted Negative Free pistols on Tuesday following the Flexible Set/Repetition Scheme described on RoughStrength.com.  I give myself 20:00 to get my reps in.  These are working well and recovery is good.  On Thursdays I've been working the Dynamic Isometric Pistol from NW.  I pause for 5 sec. each at bottom, parallel, and just above parallel.  I do this with a 12kg and also follow the Flex. Set/Rep Scheme for 20:00.

Question:

I have an inkling that maybe I shouldn't even be using weight for the Dynamic Iso.  Has anybody had any experience doing this type of pistol?  If I can get the 40kg for a single each leg, is 12kg too much?  Thank you
