Hello folks,

I really like training in the easy strength style with high frequency submaximal work. I did Simple and Sinister for nearly a year and recently I've been having some success with Dan John's 40 Day Programme.

I'd like to get into running - nothing ambitious but I'd like to work up to doing a 10k. Most running programmes I've seen involve training 3-4 times a week, but I was thinking of using the principles of S&S and the 40 day programme and follow a routine with a higher frequency (eg 6x per week) with a very easy distance each time (starting at just 1 mile).

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience if training like this and if they could offer any advice.

Thank you!

I think the approach described in the book would be a great place to start; perhaps even while doing the 40 day routine….
