What's everyone's thoughts on pushing off of the instep when standing up in the get up? I've got a few people I'm working with that cannot bend their toes well because of orthopedic reasons (bunions, bone spurs, etc).

You mean they leave their back foot plantarflexed in the lunge position?

I used to do that starting out because of knee pain and my solution was to use knee pads.

But since their problem appears to be in their feet then I guess there's no other option other than do it that way.

It's not ideal, they will be using mostly their front leg for standing up. I would only push minimally from the back foot just enough to keep balance and help a little.

But I'm not an expert so maybe others can chime in?

I'm also interested in what's recommended in this cases.
