Really great interview with Dr. Stuart McGill on Bret Contreras's blog. Covers a lot of interesting topics, and a must read for anyone into biomechanics. My favorite quote from it was probably:

"For any of these questions, the answer is always, it depends. Now tell me about the things that I would need to know to make the best decision. I don’t have a position on anything. All I have is a knowledge base that I have some confidence in and I also have confidence in what I don’t know... The answer is always it depends."

Fascinating reading. It took me about a half hour to read and I've only scratched the surface of what these men know.

Yeah, I read through it over the better part of 45 minutes, but will definitely be going back through it even slower in the future.

Just thought I would link this thread to the "Squat Depth and Tail-Tucking" thread.

I am SO glad these guys got together for some laboratory fun and an interview. On the internet they seemed like enemies -- not so, check out the last five minutes.

"It depends" and "It's your fault" pretty much covers it.

Imagine Bret Contreras, Stu McGill, Pavel, Brett Jones, and Gray Cook collaborating on a spine book and creating a roadmap, so that any individual could locate themselves and know how to train in terms of age, genes, health, sports, injuries.

If you liked that, you'll probably like this as well:

It's a podcast interview with McGill by Scott Iardella. Some real gems in here.
