Hello, my brother-in-law competes at the sport. Just at a locallevel (5x2 minute rounds) and wants me to ask: what would you recommend for a training plan for him? I did get him doing my own 'freestyle- one-arm LCCJ program but feel I am short-changing him. There also isn't and hip rotation movement and I wonder if there is a way of training this, to increase power n kicks and punches?

What do you guys think?

could do a this or a variation of it.

I've also seen where you could throw the opposite knee when doing the core rotation.

He'd most likely be much better off just doing S&S. It really is a great program for all types of combat sport athletes.

Interesting thoughts, thanks. Are Russian twists with a heavy weight (thinking of sets/reps in Bullet-Proof Abs) useful? Or are they out because they both bend and twist the spine, simultaneously?

S&S would be a great way to go.  But if your brother-in-law is ready for it, here is a program written by a standup fighter for standup fighters:

As a knockdown fighter (Enshin Karate) I would pick  a program that is for strength but not much as it will hinder Ring performance. S&S is good,KB Strong is good, ROP can be a bit much depending on how frequent he trains Muay Thai.
