I had an interesting thought after my morning Simple and Sinister session over breakfast:

Moderate fives , as far as barbells are concerned,  are the number oft championed when it comes to building strength. As much as I am loath to use the term 'magic number' it seems to be applicable for barbell programming (sets of five or fewer reps).

When it comes to the kettlebell ballistic drills it seems like 10 reps function as the 'moderate fives' of the kettlebell world, as Simple and Sinister shows us.  Sets of ten for kettlebell ballistics build the 'what the hell' strength and conditioning effects without undue amounts of fatigue, at least in my experience with kettlebell training with the constraint of leaving 'gas in the tank' for other things.

Curious if that's the right sort of observation.
