Thanks Steve! Due to an old right shoulder injury, which occurred when I was a kid, I stay in close. The closer to my body, the less chance of re-injury. Although, maybe I will try a slight wider grip on less weight and see how it goes.

OK.  I'm sure you know your history and your injuries best, but it's worth keeping in mind that a wider grip will get you more weight.  I recommend giving a dumbbell bench press a try - it let's you get deeper, and may help with providing specific strength and/or just improved range of motion in your shoulders at the bottom of your bench press.  I'd also play around with different visualization of how you hold/pull/bend the bar - some might help your shoulder seat itself better than others.

If you're going to go that narrow, I'd consider going even narrower as an assistance exercise.

Keep up the good work!

Congrats on the PR, Reneta!

Training with pauses will make a big difference.

Try to increase your thoracic arch and decrease the lumbar arch a little.

Thank you Pavel!

What suggestions do you have Pavel, for increasing the thoracic arch? I foam roll almost daily.
