Howdy and happy New Year!

I have an athlete on my roster who will be training for a half ironman in August 2021. I intend to run some Strong Endurance training alongside the specific training for the event. It's fairly obvious which templates to be using from ~March forward, but I'm curious if there are optimal templates to run leading up to that?

I thought maybe the fast fibers templates would be a good idea (StrongFIRST) before moving into the templates for longer duration events. Do you all have any input? Maybe it's in the manual and I overlooked it!

Thanks!

I have unfortunately no experience of half ironman but Derek Toshner talked during the seminar about training for climbing mountains where he followed the order 033 > 044 > 060. First develop power so that lighter loads feels easier later.
He has written a few lines about All-Terrain Conditioning here.

(Pavel said that the progression is reversed of that of strength athletes that normally begin with lighter and progresses to heavier.)
