I haven't done these in probably 20 years, but after playing around on my gyms glute/ham station I threw in some Roman sit-ups.  Any opinions on these?

Michael, there are better ab strengthening exercises but it is a great hip flexor and back stretch (for those with no counterindications). Cramp the glutes and posteriorly tilt your pelvis to protect your back.

Michael, just one man's story here, but I went out and bought a reverse-hyper/RC-situp gadget and used it for several months.  While I liked having it, it took up too much space in my basement gym so I got rid of it.  A situp over a big exercise ball will give you some of the same benefits - I bought a 55cm ball recently and that's easier to move around as needed, too.  You can't get as much stretch but it's still better than a slap in the face with a wet fish. :)
