There's an exercise where you set a clock for some number of minutes and snatch a kettlebell every ten seconds :)0, :10, :20), switch hands at :30, and repeat on the other arm :)30, :40, :50).

What is this typically used for? What qualities does it develop? When do you reach a point of diminishing returns? Just looking for some general info about it. Thanks.

This strengthens the lockout position. In kettlebell sport, the snatch is contested for up to 5 minutes per arm, and the lockout is the only rest position allowed. Competitors in this sport generally do not switch hands as often as you describe.

do 10 reps per arm in 10:00, resting overhead. you will learn very quickly how to appropriately relax under load.
