Wondering if anyone has thoughts on a saying my strongman mate used to say:

"If you can walk it out you can squat it"

Not sure where he heard that, and I understand why he claims it could be true, but ??  For me no chance (yet my squat technique is a bit inhibited).

...Yeah, doesn't really make sense. Especially since strongman carry bigger yokes than they can squat all the time (it's not exactly the same, but still).

I think it is a bit of "priming" for when he squats. Make sure he gets a bit of congitive flow. Because it obviously doesn't make sense.

I was thinking yokes yesterday too Aris.  Maybe he just wanted to see me get stapled?!  No he was more genuine than that - when I said no way to him, his simplistic explanation was : with good form, the weight is centered over middle of the feet, the back "straight" taking all the weight (back-hips actually), and this is maintained throughout the squat.

Maybe he was repeating an old-strongwoman tale?  Don't argue with them...

If anything, I agree Rickard, it is a good psyche-up tool.
