Hello my friends!

Does somebody know where the difference between a program with prescribed weights (lets say Press Plan 611) in comparison to a program with percentages (for example the press program in Craig Markers preperation article) is?

Could I just take Plan 611 for example, turn weights into percentages and then use a different 1 RM to use the plan for another lifter with a lower 1RM?

Or does a certain 1RM bring special considerations with it?

I’m looking forward to your thoughts and answers!

@SvenRieger, I am tagging @CMarker in case he'd like to respond, but even without my manual in front of me, as a general guideline, actual weights and 1RM-based numbers _should_ be interchangeable. Sometimes, with kettlebells, because the sizes are fixed, it's easier to specify actual weights.

From "Scientific Principles of Strength Training":

At some point, absolute intensity is not completely surmountable by adaptions, and stronger lifters just have to program around this. You can´t just scale up a program or a taper based on percentages.

Is this a reason for fixed weights in some programs and percentages in others?
At what point would this really make a difference?
