"How-Low-Can-You-Go-Low-Low-Bar-Squats"

I had never been a fan of low bar squat, and since I worked as a volunteer spotter in one local competition, I am strictly against it.

The competition was in late May, so it was quite hot weather, and the bar was sliding down the sweaty backs of many competitors. Lot of them were quite close to elbow or shoulder dislocation.

Is there a reason to do this exercise? Like, does it offer something that other exercises don't or is it a "because I can" type thing?
Without over-explaining ... It lowers where the weight is relative to your hips, making it "easier" due to a short lever arm.

That's really the only reason... a "trick" to lift more weight.
