I currently do swings, military press, chin ups and standard push up (GTG, except for the swings). I'd like to reinforce my weak abs in order to help with all the exercises. Is "Bullet Proof ABS" too advanced? What do you suggest?

Of course not. But it's imperative that you know your basics and know what you are doing.
I'd would tell you not to rely on weights to strengthen abs but do Yananis arsenal and moves like that. they will keep you on for months and will program the abs software program in your brain.
do not forget the obliques.
work up to a strict dragon flag by starting with easiest moves of dragon flag concept.
