Hi-

My mainstay training is bodyweight--pushups,pullups,squats,ab work.
The one missing component is lifting a heavy weight off the ground.

I am looking for a way to incorporate the DL with the bodyweight program.

Any ideas are welcome--thanks for your replies in advance.

The obvious things we need to know first are your proficiency in the lift and how much time you can allocate to it.

Power to the People is an often recommended book and program. In the articles on the site is the daily deadlift dose program, which many have found to work as well.

The aforementioned programs rely on frequency. A relatively small amount of volume at a time but often. On the other hand, classic powerlifting programs often only have a single day of deadlifting a week. That is typically a really heavy and hard day. Lots of medals have been won that way.

There is also the option of incorporating volume and frequency. In my experience, for the time it works, nothing works better. This style really worked for me as a beginner. But it requires quite a bit of dedication.
