My question is will backoff sets help me increase my one rep max squat. I'm working on getting fives on what I want my 85 percent to be. Warming up 135, 225, 275, 315 with fives or less depending on how I feel. Work sets doing five 365 then trying for two sets of five at 385. Last time showed improvement got 4 then 3 getting the next two sets at 365. I was wanting to add a set of ten at 315 to burn my fluff I'm carrying but my main goal is to get 455 in February a 25 lb pr. Thoughts appreciated
