Bodyweight Bone density and body weight exercise

Bone density is improved by adaptation to force, isn't it?
Anything that puts a mechanical load on the bones.
So is there a preference?

Resistance exercise and walking/running/activity is a good combo for all round physical adaptations and benefits without getting bogged down in details.

And then there is diet and nutrition.
 
I was browsing Pub Med several years ago and, from what I found, it looked like running is good for bone density but walking was less certain.
