Like Mel Brooks said, "It's good to be the king."

You can look at film and stills from the comp, Mentzer's legs in particular were much larger than Zane's and equally shredded. He expected to win and honestly should have.

That competition outcome torpedoed pro bodybuilding as a 'serious' sport for years.

Edit to add @Don Fairbanks and @North Coast Miller I watched the Israetel video and he actually seemed very complimentary towards Mentzer, and his "critiques" seemed largely to be "now we know X..." which I feel is a fair "criticism" considering how much Mike, HIT, and HIT Jedi come up even in this corner of the internet.
