Barbell Deadlift dynamite first year plan

Ive learnt a bit about american cycling from marty Gallagher and seen the different approach in deadlift dynamite on a beginner picking a weight they think they can do for 10 reps and then doing 5 reps and adding weight each time until newbie gains are milked.

In the first year plan. Assistance leg exercises for pure hypertrophy are listed. Marty Gallagher's approach has been giving people size and strength but since deadlift dynamite prescribes assistance exercises for size it implies the main exercises dont provide much size- maybe it just helps with it and the main exercises are more than enough to grow.

Anyway, which do you think it is?
Or maybe it's building ligament and tendon strength (built via doing 10-30reps)?→marty gallagher said cardio builds tendons. Makes sense since cardio is basically high reps of a movement

The only answer is, "It depends." There are many approaches that can work and we needn't pick one or the other as best for all people all the time.

Let's be personal - what is it that you hope to accomplish with your deadlifting? A bigger 1RM, hypertrophy, support for another sport, or something else?
