There's nothing special about horse liniment that it couldn't or shouldn't be used on humans. The same stuff gets sold for humans under a different name. I know more people outside the gym than inside that use it.

At one of our academies, the recruits took turns picking the music for the day; disney music was a regular in the rotation. Not sure how much of it was a joke and how much of it was the person actually liked it.
Or how much they liked it but could claim it was joke.
