Old Forum Hip tightness/irritation from Deadlifts?

My hips have been feeling much tighter and sort of irritated from Deadlifting lately. I wouldn't say they hurt but it's really uncomfortable. I also noticed some cracking in my hips. I stopped deadlifting for a short while and just stretched them everyday and my hips felt much better. Now that I'm deadlifting again, my hips are getting worse again! I'm going to continue to stretch them but any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
If you can get a little video with your phone or a camera and put it on youtube, some of the fine deadlifters here could likely identify the problem immediately.
 
Charles, in addition to a video, you need to tell us about your entire strength and conditioning program as well as any injury history.
