Bodyweight In the interest of long-term health, how much running is too much?

You're doing everything right, judging from your description of your training.

I ran 6+ miles daily for years with absolutely zero running injuries. This is unheard of in the running community. But, the "secret", as with everything else, is patience. The reason people get injured is doing too much too soon.

Running is great for you IF you allow your body to adapt at a reasonable pace. Try to ignore the call to start "chasing numbers" and beating previous times or upping your mileage. I am of the opinion that even the recommended increase of 10% is much too fast.

Running is stressful on the joints. Sit back, relax, and don't forget that the reason you're doing it is because you love it. Not because you want to be competitive. Speed comes naturally, and without paying the man if you just enjoy the process.

Good luck.
