I can military press a kettlebell smoothly with no popping.  When pressing, I swing the bell slightly out to the side in a mild arc, similar to the picture of Pavel in ETK, but maybe not quite that wide.  When I lower the bell along that same path, I get a clicking sound in my shoulder.   I have tried various ways of lowering the bell, pulling, tensing, relaxed.  Get popping every time. But, if I lower the bell directly in front of me I don't get any popping.  So, I seem to be able to use a different path lowering the bell than raising the bell.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there anything I can try to emphasize when lowering the bell to allow me to lower it over the same trajectory as I raise it and not get the popping?

Similar thing for me but not really popping.

I lower the bell in a slightly narrower arc andit is ok now.
