Greetings, I just joined the strongfirst community and wanted to introduced myself. Im an out of shape 32yo guy from south carolina. Two years ago I got diagnosed with a herniated disc between L5-S1. Im looking forward to starting my kettlebell work next weekend with elise mathews. I look forward to learning from this forum and hopefully one day having the knowledge to help others here!

Welcome!  You will find lots of good info and encouragement here.  I look forward to reading about your journey from "out of shape" to "in shape"!!

Bobby, I took up Kettlebells a few years ago after a  bad back injury. Back is now stronger than ever. Technique was key for me. When techniques were off my back hurt, once I got techniques right, things went from strength to strength.

Thank you Pavel I am looking forward to meeting her and getting started! And Jon I agree, I have been watching this forum for a while. And most everyone seems nice and encouraging!

And Mark. Thats the biggest thing that has brought me to sf is everything I have studied says this is the way to go. My back specialist told me to strengthen the back and glutes, but gave me no options on how to do them. He said with the severity of the injury that I could not use traditional weight lifting( which didnt hurt my feelings).
