I've recently gotten pretty good at pistol squats and looking on-line I was trying to find out what Dr. Stuart McGill says about them? I know he says not to flex your spine ( which is hard to avoid doing that ) but does he say anything about pistol squats? I ask because obviously when doing them you do round your back somewhat and I'm trying to find out if he says people should or should not do them?

In addition to the back is there any research done on their affect on the knee? Thanks

I wrote an article called "Pistols for a Bad Back" - look it up, I think you might find it helpful.
