I was having a discussion lately with someone regarding protein shakes after a heavy kettlebell training (e.g. heavy press and snatch day in ROP). I was not so sure if it would be benificial, since the goal is not bulking muscles. Or am I wrong and is it helpfull for strength development? (assuming that the protein intake from daily food is not sufficient).

What is your opinion on this subject?

Thanks.

The ROP will make you stronger and eating a lot will help get you bigger from it. A shake isn't required, but won't necessarily make you bigger either unless it puts you into a surplus of calories/protein/positive hormonal balance.

Protein intake is going to have an substantial influence on recovery.

Getting your protein from a concentrated vegetation is a great option. My preferred plant protein processing unit is called a cow. It eats grass and produces lean protein. I eat them.

Gotta go with Tim on this one.

Well, that and sashimi; and if it's a really good place, even beef sashimi.
