Barbell PTTP Questions

Hi All!

I’ve recently jumped back into PTTP. It’s been 5+ years since I’ve used it.

Running it by the original book aside from using 5-3-2 instead of 2x5.

5 days per week
Conventional DL
One Arm Barbell Press

Has anything changed with recommendations around this program?

I feel like I’ve heard rumblings of PTTP 2.0, but can’t find any resources.

Looking back at old training logs, I believe PTTP to be one of the only programs I can run for 6 months+ with slow steady progress & not get too banged up.

Also - This time I around I am including a warm up my body has gotten used to over the past few years.

50 yards sled each way - push & reverse
1 slow strong Nordic curl
1 :60 Zercher carry with 135lb

Any thoughts on the warm up taking away from the program?
 
I have seen others talk about Carries as a warmup, but I tend to prefer them as a finisher since they can burn my forearms out. If it gets you ready to lift, it should be fine.

As for PTTP 2.0, it’s just a slight modification you get with the Barbell 101 workshop: Barbell 101: Power to the People! | StrongFirst

I can’t really tell you what’s in the program, but if you look at the workshop you’ll see that you go over the floor press and bench press, which replace the side press. It’s not necessary to change anything from the original program, this is just an option.
 
PTTP 2.0 is on the StrongFirst app...

Only changes is the exercises (deadlift & bench press or floor press, no side press)

And the rep scheme, 5-3-2 instead of 2x5
