I've trying out "long rests" and enjoying them very much. But it does add on a lot of extra time which means I have to cut down on the number of exercises (say from 4 to 2). I was wondering if the long rest refers only to the muscle group being worked leaving a different group to be trained during the rest (maybe after about a minute's active rest).

Your idea can work sometimes, depends on CNS fatigue as well.

Hi!

Depends on your goals - if you want raw/neural strength, 3-5 minutes (or even longer as in "Grease the Groove") are good.

You will of course get some active rest from doing another exercise, but I would advise you to stick to "Fast & Loose" drills if you really want to be fresh for the next set.

Depends on the exercises.
You can superset i.e. Barbell Bench press with Rows. Or Military Presses with Chins.
Probably harder to superset barbell deadlifts and barbell squats.
