Short, multi-day fasting experiment

Just to be clear, it is not your activity level that would make fasting difficult for you. It is stress and lack of sleep.

No it would be lack of energy due to lack of calories.

Food I can control. Sleep and stres are out of my control.

In theory, I would agree with @Wesker11, in practice I would agree with @Geoff Chafe. For someone like me, it doesn't really matter how many times I eat, as long as I eat enough (this is all in respect to daily energy level). If I can eat 2,000-3,000 calories over the course of a few hours, then most of it gets stored as fat, and that fat is subsequently used up later. No problem. The only issue is if stress or sleep deprivation messes with cortisol levels (and some other stuff, but mostly cortisol), and my body starts preferentially using glucose instead of fat. Then I burn through my glycogen too soon and feel like garbage.

In reality, for someone with a lot of muscle mass and a physically demanding job, sleep and stress notwithstanding, it could be difficult to get in all the requisite calories in a short period of time.
