Old Forum Shoulder injury

Hey people, I have some weird shoulder injury and i have no idea what to do about it.
One evening i was doing my stretches at ymca and I stretched my shoulder to far out. After that i have cracking/poping in my left shoulder or even upper back( cant tell where cracking is coming from). My shoulder is fine in almost all positions when I move it around but once I add pressure to some exercise's like bench press or  when i do wide pull ups it hurts.
Do any of you know what is the name of my injury or did you have it before and what did you do about it.
P.S dont tell me just to go to the doctor ( I will) i just wanna know your opinion for now.

It's hard to know what to make of your symptoms.  I had a weird shoulder issue that finally seems to have resolved after about a year of babying it.  My injury sounds similar to yours.  It was diagnosed as an "AC joint osteolysis," but honestly I'm skeptical.  I saw a physical therapist who was also an SFG and he was frankly more helpful than the sports medicine doc.

What I had was also worse with bench and pull ups.  I could feel it at the end of the collar bone where it connects with the shoulder and along the lateral side of the shoulder.  My unscientific theory is that the AC joint loosened and led to more instability in the shoulder joint.  The physical therapist gave me a stretch to do that seemed to help the AC joint heal.  I can do overhead presses now, but I still can't do bench press or pull ups.

Is there general agreement among experts that a large percentage of the population shouldn't press or is Andrew Read going out on a limb with this statement?
