Old Forum Snatch Technique

Hi

I have been teaching myself through You Tube Vids and reading some of Pavel's books.  In terms of the Snatch is there a variation in how it is taught I saw Steve Cotter begin the Snatch with the handle facing away from him and then I have seen others with a horizontal starting position.  Is  there a Snatch Technique called the Corkscrew?
