So today I was doing some getups with a 32kg KB. On my 3rd rep I messed up big time and lost control of the weight during the sit up phase(just a major screw in concentration, as normally I can easily handle the weight). I couldn't get out of the way of the weight and it came down on my stomach.

On instinct I went into power breathing mode for my abs, so lots of high tension there and the KB just bounced off without a problem. No pain nothing. I could immediately continue for another (succesful) try.

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt. I've had a few times when something has messed me up and I ALWAYS try and guide the bell away from my body.
 
Wow! Happened to me the other day with a 26 in my left hand. I was just completing the rep just about lying down and my left arm kinda gave out (got some weird tendonitis or something more serious going on). My right hand caught the bottom of the bell about 18" from my head. Scary stuff.
