I am looking for everyones thoughts on rowing machines. My wife is wanting one and who am I to say no? Are the good or just a waste of money and space? Which is better an air or a magnetic?

I rowed in college. Hated erg training all winter, but I sure got in good shape from it!

There are a number of rowers here that can probably answer your questions regarding type to get. I have heard good things about the fluid ones.
As far as effectiveness goes... if I had to pick one indoor exercise machine; it would be a rower. But I can pretty much guarantee it will be a total waste of money and space if it doesn't get used...

We like our C2 model d. Works lots of muscles...you can hook a HRM to it also.

She ended up getting a less expensive rower. It's a pretty good workout
